About Anam Cara Desk Icons

"Anam Cara" is a Celtic term for "soul friend"

Each of these small, intimate Anam Cara paintings has been made to bond with a particular person -- to become a true soul friend. This is a friend who listens deeply with the kind of love that calls forth true feeling and natural expansion. A soul friend calls you to relax, to allow yourself to become more and more your authentic self.

A Soul Friend Listens with Love

These paintings have a spiritual and psychological purpose: to love you exactly as you are. The Anam Cara paintings are made to listen with abiding love, and to reflect back your magnificence. They're made for intimacy; they want to be close to you.

Desk Icons

I call these paintings "desk icons" because they're made to stay close to "their person's" computer monitor or writing desk, or wherever their person works. Why?  They are created to radiate an energy of love to you, even when you're not looking at them. They look at you.

An Anam Cara desk icon may choose you!

As you relax and gaze at each painting, one will resonate with your deepest self. You will know. It may feel as if the Anam Cara desk icon as chosen you. You may feel your shoulders relax, or feel warmth in your palms. You can sense a bond.

More Anam Cara desk icons are coming into full manifestation all the time, so if you don't meet one that feels right today, look again when you're inspired to do so.

If at all possible, come to meet the paintings in person, at my studio. Or ask your favorite gallery to consider showing the desk icons in a setting that's relaxed and contemplative. You might want to host a gathering at your home or church, so others can meet desk icons in person. I would welcome this.

Anam Cara Pocket Paintings

Note that there are Anam Cara paintings that are even smaller -- only 3.5 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide. I call these "pocket paintings" because they're sturdy enough to be carried with you in a pocket or bag. When you're working, the pocket paintings can perch on a miniature easel, just like a slightly larger desk icon can.
